Borough Market

Today I went to the Borough Market with a friend of mine. It was only a couple blocks away from the London Bridge stop on the tube...It had everything from fruit and vegetable stands, to locally sourced cheese and meats, to specially made foods and drinks. it was sensory overloaded, I wanted to eat almost everything I saw
They cooked Paella in these giant shallow woks...it looked so f*****g good

These focaccias were no joke
This station was insane...they were shaving cheese as it melted onto potatoes and bread

I ordered Indian dosas for lunch. A dosa is like a savory (almost sour) pancake. This dosa was stuffed with herbed potatoes..it came with chana masala, chutney and yogurt.

This nougat looked ridiculously good

This station sold every type of licorice imaginable. The pebbles you see at the bottom of the picture were made to look like stones, but tasted like licorice.

meat.
This was a Portuguese tart. The outer crust was a flaky pastry-like dough, filled with a rich sweet custard...

Today we went to Portobello Market in Notting Hill
We ended up walking from our dorm all the way to Portobello Road.
Here is some of what we saw along the way...

(This turned out to be a part of the Kensington Palace grounds)

We passed tons of beautiful homes on our way to Notting Hill...

I thought the buildings/homes in Notting Hill were incredible. They were like candy colors

I haven't been feeling so well the past couple of days so I decided to order the hot lemon ginger tea with honey. I wanted it to be good, but it felt a little bit like I was drinking tabasco..

This store had awesome prints and photographs stacked from the ceiling to the floor

While I'm abroad in London for my second semester I will be keeping a writing/photo journal of all of my experiences. Leggo people!

I arrived in London on Saturday, but between unpacking, and attending meetings and orientation I didn't have much of a chance to go out and see the city. Monday afternoon my roommates and I walked up to the high street in Kensington just to check out the area and do some grocery shopping

The Whole Foods in South Kensington is awesome. I didn't end up taking that many pictures, but I did think it was great how they displayed all the food and spices so you could see and smell them as you walked by...

 ...

On Tuesday we took a boat ride with our program along the River of Thames. We cast off from a dock directly across from the London Eye...The weather was great, and the boat ride was an amazing way to see certain parts of London

We docked the boat in an area of London called Greenwich. There ws a large museum only a few feet from the River Thames, great restaurants, and a bunch of shops. If anyone who is currently visiting, or planning to visit London is reading this, I highly recommend taking a trip down
there!

This candy shop was stacked head to toe in mad cool candies and sweets.

I know you guys all want to move here...Cause I do too
